Abstrak

The portrait of zakat fund management, especially in a number of zakat institutions, is considered not optimal. This can be seen in the realization of zakat revenue which is still far from its potential. The purpose of zakat is not only to collect donations of wealth and then make it a collection of unproductive assets, but zakat must be a source of productive funds to fulfill the interests of the community. Some countries whose zakat institutions are advanced, zakat can be used as one of the pillars of the economy. Currently, each zakat institution is competing to create innovations in empowering zakat funds. The proper empowerment of zakat in zakat institutions will increase the usefulness of the zakat, not only for worship facilities but also to increase the independence of mustahiq. This study aims to analyze the optimization of zakat fund management in regional zakat institutions: SWOT (strenght, weakness, opportunity, Threat) analysis approach. Data analysis is done with a qualitative approach. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to explain the optimization of zakat fund management in zakat institutions.
